The 146th Open Championship will take place at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in late July. Renowned as one of the finest links courses in the UK, Royal Birkdale will host the tournament for the 10th time, the last being held in 2008 when Padraig Harrington successfully defended his Carnoustie title with a four-shot victory over Ian Poulter. Defending champion Henrik Stenson will be looking to win his second major, after one of the most enthralling final rounds ever seen in a major championship. Going into the final day with a one-shot lead over Phil Mickleson, the Swede carded a 8-under-par 63, including birdies on four of his final five holes, to win by three shots.
